Scholarship: Nebraska One Box Scholarship
Description: The program gives four recipients $1000 each year. Several other scholarships are given through the One Box Foundation, totaling approximately $12,500 annually. These scholarships provide financial aid and incentives to area high school seniors seeking a post-secondary degree.
Scholarships are awarded based on criteria including college major, grade point average, extracurricular activities, community and civic participation, student or family One Box participation, and the probability of returning to the area.
Scoring is weighed toward individuals going into wildlife/range/forestry management or veterinary medicine with strong consideration given to education majors. The student or family participation in One Box activities also provides about one-third of the total points scored on the application.
