Scholarship: Nebraska State 4-H Scholarships - Orscheln Industries Foundation Scholarship
Description: To apply for scholarships, 4-H’ers must submit the Nebraska 4-H Achievement Application for state-level review by January 15th. Youth must follow the application instructions available on the Nebraska 4-H Achievement Application webpage. If applying for multiple scholarships, only one Achievement Application should be submitted. An applicant must select the scholarship to which he/she feels qualified.
Eligibility Requirements: $1,000 each awarded to four individuals
Must be a current high school senior, graduating in the Spring of the current year and attending college in the Fall of the current year or a current Freshman at an accredited university.
Must be planning to attend the University of Nebraska–Lincoln Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
Must be a U.S. citizen and a resident of Nebraska.
Must be entering college as a freshman.
Preference will be given to applicants who are residents of Adams, Buffalo, Custer, Dawson, Gage, Hall, Jefferson, Johnson, Lancaster, Lincoln, Nemaha, Otoe, Phelps, Red Willow, Richardson, Saline, Seward, Valley, or York Counties (these counties have Orscheln Farm and Home Stores).
Residents of counties bordering these Nebraska counties will be considered.
Scholarship money is available only during freshman year.
Must have been members of 4-H for 4 years prior to graduating from high school.
Applicants must exhibit outstanding leadership potential, possess good character/moral traits, be self-motivated, and must have been recognized for good academic performance during their 4 years of high school.
